Update: 25/40960/OUT Land off Green Road, Weston Planning Application

Stafford Borough Council’s Planning Committee has considered outline planning application 25/40960/OUT for land off Green Road, Weston, seeking permission for up to 150 residential dwellings, together with associated infrastructure, access, drainage, public open space and landscaping.

The Committee resolved to refuse the application.  As the proposal is for up to 150 dwellings, Stafford Borough Planning Committee is required to refer the proposed refusal to the Secretary of State.

With the support of Weston’s Stafford Borough Ward Councillor, Frances Beatty, Weston with Gayton Parish Council formally objected to the proposal and was represented at the Committee meeting, where the Parish Council’s concerns were presented to Committee Members before the decision was reached.

Please note: This is an outline planning application, meaning that detailed matters such as layout, scale, appearance and landscaping have not been determined. The application sought approval for the principle of development and the proposed access arrangements, with further details potentially subject to subsequent applications.

Weston with Gayton Parish Council will continue to monitor developments and any further planning proposals or decisions relating to the site.

New Trial Bus Service 151 Stone- Weston- Hixon Bus Timetable

From Tuesday 1 September, a new 151 bus service will operate between Stone and Rugeley for one year, funded by the county council. The route will serve Aston Lodge, replacing the existing Service A, as well as Burston, Sandon, Weston, Hixon, Great Haywood, Little Haywood and Colwich.

The service will run hourly from Monday to Saturday, with nine journeys in each direction from shortly before 9am until 5.30pm.

Please use it or lose it! Supporting this new service by using it regularly will help demonstrate the demand for local bus services and the importance of keeping these vital connections available for our communities.

The county council’s transport team will monitor the service and passenger numbers during the year’s trial period.
