Post Office Limited has confirmed that the new part-time Post Office service will open in Weston Village Hall from 1st March 2012. The new facility will be open on two afternoons a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays as a temporary measure pending the re-establishment of a full-time Post Office service in the village. Weston Community Shop Survey - 29th April 2011

(Posted By David Kirby on 18th June 2011)

The response to our recent community survey was very good with 444 completed questionnaires received to date. The responses indicate a high level of support for a community shop and post office. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being very important, 60% of respondents rated a post office as 4 or 5 and 65% rated a community shop as 4 or 5. The high quality of responses will allow us to undertake further analysis to identify the products and services a community shop should provide. 40 respondents indicated they would be willing to help in running the shop. The Group believes we will require at least this number to open a community shop for the hours that the survey indicates is required. Thank you to everyone who completed the questionnaire and to the volunteers who delivered and collected them.

Weston Open Gardens - Saturday & Sunday - 3rd July 2010

(Posted By David Kirby on 22nd August 2010)

What a lovely weekend we had for the second year running. There were 12 gardens open throughout the village, with a wide variety of size and style. So many visitors from outside the village, from as far afield as Nottingham, Shropshire, & the Potteries came and made very nice comments about the gardens on display. Next year promises to be as equally spectacular with several gardeners already committed. We would like to say a huge "Thank You" to all those people who opened their garden or helped with refreshments or in any other way to raise just short of £2000 for church funds.

(Posted By David Kirby on 22nd August 2010)

Weston is once again entering the 2010 BKV competition and on behalf of Weston Parish Council, I would like to ask all Villagers to participate in achieving success. If you feel you can organise a working party from your own road or tackle one of the many areas such as the War Memorial, Pathways, General areas, Village Hall etc this would be of great use. The more people involved, the more work can be done. If anyone is interested please contact Colin Critchlow or Jackie Hodgson. You may have something you would particularly like to do, please let us know. By working together we can bring the BKV back to Weston
